ABOUT

Background & Education

My name is Emily Ousley. This is my 2nd year at Manara STEM Academy. This year, I am the reading interventionist for grades K-6. I attended Austin College and The University of Texas at Arlington to obtain my Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I will graduate in May 2017 with a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. I am certified to teach all subjects up through grade 6, English Language Arts and Social Studies for grades 4-8, and in English as a Second Language. I have a passion for reading and a love of books. I try to inspire my students to find their own love for reading and books they enjoy.

My job this year is to help students who are struggling in English Language Arts and Reading (ELA/R). I have experience with helping students reach reading and language goals to advance to the next tier. I will use assessments to collect data and help make that data meaningful for students and teachers. I plan to work closely with ELA/R and writing teachers to plan effective small group instruction and accelerated learning groups. Please use my page for resources and tools to help at home. I am available for teachers, students, and families to get the help they need to be successful. I'm looking forward to a great year. We are Manara Maverick STRONG!
